..about..

…speed with silence, absence of vibration, the mysterious harnessing of great energy…
kikai
kikai (jap./kanji) means “ocean of energy”.
kikai started as a solo-project of Marius C. Hammerich to be a place for musical creativity.  since 2005 it evolves more and more into a solid project with musicians from around the world participating.
while making music for fun the target of kikai is to support social projects by donating and raising money.
this finally became clear and public while preparing the recordings for 2009 album ‘buruu’.
an idiosyncrasy of  kikai is recording all instruments live except that drum- and percussion-stuff.
so no use of sequencers at all. honestly one should be told that sequencers are used on recent album “buruu“.
the music of “Kikai” is inspired by machines and sounds from the early days of synthesizer music – freshed up with acoustic, ambient and sonic elements.

• supporting musicians: Kimberly Keck (lyrics, voice), Knut Habicht (guitars), Marius C. Hammerich (keys&machines), Christian Purwien (lyrics) and more…

…nice to have you in the show :)
